Do Not Wish These Critters on Anyone

Had a horrible infestation in my apartment about 11 months ago, I have put my things in storage and im thinking of taking it out this weekend but has only been 11 months! Could i still have bed bugs in my stuff? or should it be okay to take it out?

Editors Comment:

Bed bugs can go without feeding for 20 to 400 days, depending on temperature and humidity. Older stages of nymphs can survive longer without feeding than younger ones, and adults have survived without food for more than 400 days in the laboratory at low temperatures.

Given this timeframe, it is possible that your stored items could still have bed bugs, even if it has been 11 months since the infestation. Even if your apartment has been treated and is now bed bug-free, any items that were not properly treated or inspected before being placed in storage could still harbor bed bugs. It is recommended to take precautions before bringing your items out of storage. It would be best to inspect your items thoroughly for bed bugs and use an insecticide or heat treatment to ensure that any remaining bed bugs are eliminated.
