Tools for Killing Bed Bugs Las Vegas

Multiple products and methods are needed to kill bed bugs Las Vegas.  This includes:

  • Bed Bug Sprays: Two types of bedbug sprays are required.  A knock down spray kills bed bugs and bed bug eggs on contact, but do not provide lasting protection.  A second type of spray is used with a knock down spray that provides lasting protection.
  • Bedbug Dust (also called fossil dust or diatomaceous earth): Natural product that clings to bed bugs, causing death.
  • Mattress and Box Spring Covers: Covers trap any bed bugs and bed bug eggs missed with the spray treatment.
  • Steamer: A hand steamer is an effective weapon, as heat levels above 113F kill both bed bugs and bed bug eggs.

Consider buying a bed bug removal kit such as the one offered by Dermisil (organic kit) or an insecticide based bed bug kit. The kits provide all of the products mentioned below and are an economical way to approach the problem. Getting rid of bed bugs is hard work, and having the right products available will help.

Bed Bugs Las Vegas Travel Tips

Hotels along the Las Vegas Strip are aware that bedbugs are a threat to the economy of Las Vegas.  Since travelers are one of the primary ways bed bugs spread, hotels are being very careful.  They are using bed bug sniffing dogs to check rooms and aggressively treat any problems that they find.

That said, it pays to know what to look for.  Before entering a hotel room, inspect the mattress.  A clean mattress means that there is little to no chance of bed bugs in the room.  If the mattress has brown fecal spots, then call the manager and do not stay in the room.

Other tips are to keep any luggage off the floor and away from walls.  You can protect clothes by handing them in the shower, buying a bed bug proof luggage liner, or bring Ziploc Big Bags.

One suggestion is to treat luggage with JTEaton's Luggage Spray before leaving home. This will help to keep bed bugs Las Vegas away from luggage for 3 to 6 weeks. If you are concerned about bed bugs when sleeping, a natural bed bug repellent spray could help, which can be safely applied to your skin before going to sleep.

Finding Experienced Las Vegas and Nevada Bed Bug Pest Control Experts

Treating bed bugs in the home can be expensive.  Professionals cost $1,000 or more, depending on methods used.  Because of this, get more than one quote and use the discussions as an opportunity to get educated on the various bed bug extermination methods.

The easiest way to get multiple quotes from local bed bug exterminators that are licensed and insured is to check the Service Magic Network (phone 1.877.233.1145). They pre-screen exterminators before they are accepted into the network. The network will provide up to 4 free quotes.
